Today's Pattern

Add 2 beads to Sh1 which has the light colour - these are the two slightly larger beads.  2 further beads are needed to add to SR6.

If you use the suggested way of starting shown below your light coloured thread should be on the lower part of the SR.  If you use any other method of starting then make sure that the light coloured thread is used for the second side of SR2 (a SLT will help after R1).  Using Sh1

 

R1:     2 – 1 – 1 – 1 – 1 – 2 vsp 1 Cl SS

SR2:   1 + (vsp R1) 2 vsp 1 / 4 Cl

SR3:   1 + (vsp SR2) 4 vsp 1 / 6 Cl

SR4:   1 + (vsp SR3) 4 vsp 1 / 6 Cl Lj (vsp SR23)

Techniques & Suggestions

Starting a ring and following split ring

  Before closing the first ring put the end of the second shuttle through the ring. Close whilst 'pinching' the end.  On the second half of the SR you will tat over this tail.

Lock join to vsp using the core thread
Pull the core thread through the vsp to form a loop. Take shuttle through this loop and close.  Before continueing check that the SR will still close/open.
