Materials required:  Any sized thread (no. 20 gives a motif measuring almost 2" across), two shuttles.

 

Skills required:  Knowledge of split rings

Although this is very similar to the outer part of the finger ring I feel it may be useful for those who want to work a small motif.  The stitch count has been altered so that it lies flat rather than as a slight 'bowl' shape as in the ring.

CR:      2 vsp 2 vsp 2 vsp 2 vsp 2 vsp 2 DNRW

Round 1

SR1:    Fp 3 / Fp 3 vsp 3 – 3 Rw SS

R2:      6 – 6 Rw SS

*SR3:  3 + (next vsp on CR) 3 / 3 – 3 Rw SS

R4:      6 – 6 Rw SS

Repeat from * 3 times

SR11:  3 + (next vsp on CR) 3 + (vsp SR1) / 3 – 3 Rw SS

SR12:  6 / 6 DNRW

Continue to next round

Round 2

SR13:  Fp 3 vsp 3 – 3 / Fp 3 DNRW SS

Ch:      *8 vsp 2 Lj + (next SR round 1) 2 + (vsp on Ch) 8 Rw

SR14:  3 (next R round 1) 3 / 3 – 3 Rw repeat from * 4 times

Ch:      8 vsp 2 Lj + (next SR round 1) 2 + (vsp on Ch) 8 + (vsp SR13) T & C
